Our Team

Rev Alison Wilkinson

Alison has been Methodist Minister for 20 Years and has been the Minister here at JMC since September 2016. She holds presbyterial oversight here at Jesmond & Shieldfield Arts Works. In September 2024, she will become our Circuit, the Newcastle Central & East, Superintendent.

She is a renowned speaker, preacher and leader, teaching at Durham University and speaking at events such as Easter People & ECG and in Churches in America, Gibraltar and Singapore. She is passionate about telling everyone about the love of Jesus.

Adam

Adam is coming to the end of his 7th year working for JMC. He started off part-time as a Student and Young Adult worker but now also works as our Lay Pastor. In September 2024, Adam will move on from being the Student & Young Adult Worker & become the full-time lay pastor of Jesmond/Shieldfield Area. His time split between JMC, Shieldfield Art Works & continuing to lead our New Place for New People discernment work in Shieldfield.

Adam grew up in the North East and returned in September 2017 after studying Divinity in Aberdeen for 4 years. He married his wife Rachel in 2019. He is passionate about Jesus, Newcastle United and Disney.

Leadership Team & More

Adam and Alison are supported by people across the whole church who help bring together all the work that JMC does.

We have a volunteer leadership team which attempts to be a diverse grouping of our congregation who pray together and seek the vision for the Church. In addition to this, we have regular meeting task groups throughout the year such as Property and Finance, Gathered Worship, Eco-Justice Hub, Safeguarding, Discipleship & our Outreach, Justice and Evangelism group. These task groups are open to all whether you've been a part of the church for a few weeks or a number of years.
